Application for Permanent Residence (PTS)
If you are a P, Q or S Employment Pass Holder, you are eligible to apply for Singapore Permanent Residency through the Professionals / Technical Personnel and Skilled Workers Scheme (PTS):
• Foreigners who are holding the P, Q or S employment pass and have worked for 6 months in Singapore are eligible to apply for Permanent Residence in Singapore. However, it is prudent for applicants to wait at least one year before applying for Permanent Residency. This ensures that the applicant has submitted a personal income tax return in Singapore before applying. Other criterion that will be considered for Permanent Residency are the achievements and track records obtained in the workplace or the Singapore society.
• Spouse/ Family member of PR/Singaporean
- Spouse and unmarried children (below 21 years old) of a Singapore Citizen (SC)/Permanent Resident (SPR)
- Aged parents of a Singapore Citizen
Processing Time
For P, Q or S Employment Pass Holders
Under the technical scheme, the processing time for an application is about 3 months, following the applicant’s interview at ICA.
Family of PR/Singaporean
Permanent residency applications for spouse, aged parents and unmarried children under 21 years old also take about 3 months to process. Please note that family members of Singapore PR applicants should wait for the approval of the PR applicants’ status before submitting their own applications for PR. ICA will only process PR applications for family members after they have approved the P, Q or S Employment Pass Holders’ PR applications.
