Employment Pass Eligibility Certificate (EPEC)
The Employment Pass Eligibility Certificate (EPEC) allows foreigners to stay in Singapore for up to one year to seek employment on a long-term visit pass issued by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA). Foreigners eligible for the EPEC must be:
- Holders of selected university qualifications, or
- Current or former holders of selected skilled migrant visas.
The EPEC is not a work pass, and EPEC holders will have to submit an Employment Pass (EP) application to the Work Pass Division for consideration upon securing employment in Singapore.
Application
The application for EPEC is submitted online. Upon the receipt of the application, an email acknowledgement will be sent to inform the applicant of their EPEC application reference number. The applicant may check the application status online through the MOM website by submitting their EPEC application reference number and passport number. There is no processing fee for the application of the EPEC, only professional consultancy fees apply – should you require our assistance.
Processing Time
The application will be processed within 7 working days from the date of receipt of the application.
Documents Required
For initial online application process, the applicant’s educational qualifications and academic transcripts are required to be uploaded into the system.
MOM may also request additional information such as:
- A certified true copy of your tertiary academic qualifications, transcripts or your professional qualifications;
- A copy of your skilled migrant visa (if applicable);
- A copy of your passport particulars page; and
- A recent passport size photo taken within the last three months
For non-English degree certificates/transcripts/professional qualifications, a copy of the original, as well as the official English translation certified by the University/College, or the respective embassy must be submitted.
Issuance
MOM will notify applicants of their application outcome by email. Subsequently, the Employment Pass Eligibility Certificate (EPEC) will be mailed to the successful applicant’s mailing address. It will take between 3 to 4 weeks for the EPEC to be delivered to an overseas mailing address.
